    1. yes, the quote (re. the word 'Undine') is from Seamus Heaney's 'Preoccupations' (1980) p.52, in which he discusses his poem by that name (which can be found in his collection 'Door Into the Dark'), and how it came about. The sentence begins like this:
      "It was the dark pool of the sound of the word that took me: if our auditory imaginations ... etc."
